Day 5-Lions, Tigers and Legos....OH MY!

Day 5 finds us heading to the Bronx Zoo. Luckly for us it just so happened to be the week the special legos were in town! The zoo gave the boys each a special map and on the map showed 4 different stations where animals were made out of lego bricks. Once they found the animal, the zoo had stamping stations where you embossed a print of the animal you were looking for to mark it off. The boys loved it! Including the REAL animals too!

Tomorrow, Playland adventure!

It is a church I used to attend as a youth. They had so may things for the kids to do. Christian had his face painted while Caden ate his snack. He was too hungry to get it done I guess. They had free food for everyone and lots for the kids to do. After that we headed to Bristol to jump around with some old friends! What a blast! Jump n jammin was a jumping good time! We then stopped to get food with our friends to finish the night. Great conversation and great friends....i would say Day 4 was awesome!

Oh the comfort of a hotel

So as I have been working on posting a blog entry every night, I noticed that not one had actually shown up. Turns out I didn't have my settings right...go figure...but now I do! I apologize for all the emails if you read this through a mail program. I should be all caught up now. Today is day number 3! Not much happened today but some relaxing, tv watching, and family wii playing. Since it wasn't that eventful today I thought I would just share a picture of Nico Thursday night in the hotel....sound asleep. Too funny if you ask me. I also have posted some pictures of the boys at our second stop Friday at the National Building museum for an amazing lego exhibit. The boys had such a blast! Can't wait for more adventures!

Is there something in my hair....

Today was HOT!!! At 10 am it was 89 degrees and showing no signs of stopping. But that didn't slow us down. We headed to the All-A-Flutter Butterfly farm. We were invited to go with a group of new friends that I have met through working as an Avon Rep. It is such a cute place. The first time we went, Christian was 3 and Caden was too little to remember. But just as years past my boys were eager to be the demonstration stars. Everytime the staff needed a helper both of them fought each other raising there hands. The first held the catapillar and the chyrsllis  in the demonstration of how the butterfly starts from an egg and moves through a cycle. Then they needed to show how the parts of the butterfly work. Like how the knees are how it hears, it tastes with it's feet and it smells with it intenna. Caden was the amazing helper on that one and he took it very seriously. Even with a pair of noses on his head, not a single laugh was made.

Time to go and see the real butterflies! It was beautiful! Nico was not to happy to have these creatures all around him. And Caden was a little shy about it too. Christian loved every minute! Towards the end, Mommy, Caden, and Nico were sitting waiting for Christian to be done, fanning away "killer" bees. Then off to the misting garden! What a relief from the heat and a great end to a great trip.

Summer is Here!!

Ok, maybe not, but it sure feels like it is. Today was in the 90's!!! And of course our AC in the car is broken! Christian reminds me everytime we get in it. "Mom! It is always hot in here!" So we got it fixed only to have it blowing hot air again this past weekend! So now I hear, " UGH! What happened to the cold air?? Why won't it come out of my fan back here!!" Christian, I would LOVE to know the answer to that since we just got it fixed I say to myself. Well today was the day to get it looked at and they can't seem to figure it out. So after another refill, we play the waiting game, hoping the cold air lasts forever!
So to end on a more positive note (I feel like the heat is getting to me with all this complaining) we were able to break out the outdoor toys and I snapped a picture of all 3 boys playing so nice together! This is rare so we needed a picture for evidence. Hope everyone had a wonderful memorial day!!!

Stitches! What?

Of my 3 boys I never thought my first time with stitches would be with my youngest. I figured stitches would be in my future, just not yet with the youngest. But sure enough the time had come for stitches. Poor Nico. He just loves to stand in the bath tub. But mom wouldn't be a good mom if she let him do that. :) So I told him to sit down. Which Nico did without a blink but as he did, holding the side of the tub, his hand slipped and his chin hit the side, and tears began flowing. I thought he bit his tongue since I didn't see any blood right away. I pulled him out of the tub and held him for awhile til he calmed down and then laid him down to put a diaper on and that's when I saw the split. A huge deep split in the folds of his chin. But he was a trooper! He dealt with the stitches for 5 days and then quietly let the Doctor take them out. He's much better now and you can't even really see the mark. At least he did a good job with placement. :)

It's Official....I do not look like a girl!

So he had enough! Can you guess who? "I don't want to look like a girl. Let's just cut my hair now." I just ignored it since we were out running errands. But then a few hours later I hear, " Mom you said we were going to cut may hair. Let's do it right now!" So off to the bathroom we went to cut the hair. I made sure he knew that once it was cut there was no putting it back on. He said ok. And the rest is history. Now all he cares about is the money Grandpa promised him months ago if he cut it. :)

The new lego creator

Looks like we may have another lego creator. Caden has been following his brother in all he does including legos. He has made what he calls Valentines on my kitchen bar ledge. I don't know about valentines but they look good to me! :)

Christmas Redo......Sort of

I know, I know, Christmas is long gone. And we are all wishing for spring to come soon. But I of course am a little behind in sharing my favorite Christmas moments captured on video. So since it is January 31st, I feel as though I still have time! If you are reading this in email you may have to visit the blog to actually play them. You can click the link at the bottom of this post.

The first video is of Christian opening his big present from Santa (thank you dear Aunt Anne for helping Santa out with this one) that we had previously said that we were not too sure Santa could carry it in his bag. To which Christian says in the video, "SEE I KNEW HE COULD CARRY IT IN HIS BAG!!" Makes me smile everytime!

The last video is of Caden opening his big present from Santa and on this video you may have to turn the volume waaaaay down. I have never heard Caden scream more like a girl in all his 3 years alive! But of course it still makes me smile everytime! :)

On a side note this post will be the last time I use photobucket to host videos and pictures. I was able to get Chris a Flip Mino HD Camera for Christmas that we will now be using for the video. The picture quality will be much better. Grandpa Valles may be the only person who is excited about this as he was the person  who strongly suggested something with better quality if I was going to be posting and sharing these videos.   Sounds like Grandpa. :) But of course after doing a few tests.......looks like Grandpa is right...as he almost always is.  Enjoy!!!

School Time!

I can't believe it is almost spring. This school year has gone by quick! Usually fridays we don't do as much. It's FRIDAY! So today we made a great paper bag town! It was so cute I had to share! It is from a great magazine Grandma Valles gets them called Highlights High Five. It has great mini stories, games, kid recipes and look and find puzzles. The magazine supplied the cut out for the windows, doors and other decorations. We just needed brown bags and newspaper. This is a great project to do even if you don't have the cut outs. You can just make your own!
